PARK(ing) Day is an annual event where citizens, artists and activists work together to renovate metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces also known as Parklets. These PARK(ing) spaces are temporarily transformed into something other than parking–a mini park, an outdoor library, cafe seating, or even an art show. The movement first started in San Francisco and has spread to 162 cities in 35 countries worldwide.
Pastiche will be joining the group of local business that are participating in the very first Park(ing) Day Providence on Friday September 20th. We’re working on designing our own parklet that will be set up in front of the shop for the entire day. Keep your eyes out for sneak-peeks on what our space will look like and make sure to come out and spend some time in our parklet that Friday the 20th.
